When did she turn into a teenager?

Okey dokey Alama-skoki, she's surely not being a fashion queen already? Um, uh-huh, she is. I took her out school clothes shopping a couple weeks ago and I overheard the sales clerk at H&M giggling outside the change room as *Mila* remarked "Oh yeah! These skinny jeans are TOTALLY my style." She has a style? What did I just miss here? Is this the same kid who can't ride her bike up a hill? Is this the same little girl who prefers to cuddle with her teddy bear over playing Scrabble? What about the same little girl who cries when I drop her off at school? Yup, same one. Has no problem spending her parents' money, but has so much growing up to do. Sometimes I wonder if she was hatched out of a Canada's Next Top Model space pod. Tomorrow would be her first day back to school. What will become of the day?

Curly Sue

After tying her hair up in knots over night *Mila* is convinced that in her nearly 5 years of life she has finally achieved REAL CURLY HAIR.

Style kitten

*Mila* asked us to take her to the salon for a haircut yesterday. So we did. Who wouldn't? We took her to a place in the mall I had been before and luckily after *Steve* refused the male 60 year old to cut her hair, they gave her a 20-something mom who stood not much taller than *Mila* and made the best companion for her haircut. Especially for the first time outside of sitting on the toilet seat while I cut it and mom-comb and mom-cut and mom-complain. Remember your mother combing your hair? Why was it always rougher than anyone else would do it? I asked *Mila* how the haircut went, as *Steve* stood with her and I couldn't see from where I sat. *Mila* answered "She was really nice and she combed my hair nice not like you mom!" See! Now I have joined the ranks of rough-comb-moms. Uggh. One day you're a teenager and the next day you wake up and you are combing your kid's hair roughly.
