3 generations; same page

More often than not, my mother and I find ourselves doing/saying/thinking/dreaming the same things.  We think we're psychic.  Outsiders think we're psycho.  We don't care.

But get this, now my daughter, *Mila* is in on the act.

Last month, we all created art in our own ways.  Separately, yet simultaneously.

Beatles songs came forth.  Check us out.

*Sigh*

As of late I have been very absent.  Absent from creativity.  Absent from my blog.

I've focused my attention on the dribbling mess that my former business is leaving behind.  I've been winding down all that income tax mumble jumble.  Balancing a full time job.  Being a mom to a gymnast that now takes a night class for 3 hours.

Suddenly my life has become busy.

And I've had a chance to assess.  Assess what should have been.  What was. What is.  I'm finding the power of now.  For now comes to an end and recognizing the end makes me live in the "now".  Because the now will end.  Does this make us relish it more?  I like to think so.

Life is too short some say.  Life is too precious.  What do you think?

I think I need more of "Big Carl" and his contents:

Sanctuary

We all have a place that we go to for solace.

I need this place.

Now.

With the warm sunshine.

All alone.

Not a soul.

I need this place.

Now.

Our first sewing project

I'll have you know that I broke 3 sewing machine needles making this damn beach bag!  Why exactly am I making a beach bag in January?  I don't know.  But I'm NOT going to Mexico.

Our adventures in not sewing

This weekend *Mila* wanted to sew and do some crafts.  So we dove into a pile of give away tshirts to make some fabulous neck scarves.

Here's the pile:

And the designer.  Note the gloves?  She made those yesterday.  Also note the tipped over chair outside which no one dares to go out and pick up.

We began to cut strips of tshirts and stretch them out.

Our first few were ribbed t-shirts and were failures.  Our visiting friend Chewy was able to get a few new chew toys out of the deal.

Hilarity

Then we found an Old Navy stretch shirt.  Awesome!  If I had 3 more I'd make chair decor.

What kept you busy this weekend?
